If you use Brisa, you can answer a few questions to get a result that predicts whether you are at high risk of having an asthma attack within the next 3 months.
In order to arrive at this result, the Brisa research team analysed over 1 million medical records 📁 of people with asthma. This anonymised patient health data came from the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) Aurum database in England.
We included characteristics that predicted whether someone went on to have an asthma attack and based our questions on these. Therefore, a person’s risk score is based on patients with similar characteristics who went on to have an asthma attack within 3 months.
More technically speaking, we combined variables for prediction of asthma exacerbations using logistic regression including age, gender, geographical region and clinical variables related to asthma events.
Ir you’re interested in more details, we are releasing a research paper on the work (link coming soon).
